Know Your Cocktail: The Greyhound

A weekly series where we teach you how to up your cocktail know-how and not embarrass yourself at your next hostess gig.

Ohhh, vodka. The home-bar staple that we never seem to tire of. But a girl can only drink so many vodka soda waters with lime (or is that just us?) before we get b-o-r-e-d. And unless you’re in college, you can do much better than a vodka cran (talk about sugar overload). Enter: The Greyhound. A perfect mix of tart, sweet, and with enough zip! to pucker your lips, it’ll be your new go-to adult beverage.


The Greyhound



1.5 oz of your vodka of choice

fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice

rosemary sprig, for garnish

In a highball glass, pour your vodka over ice. Add the fresh grapefruit juice on top, add your rosemary, and voila! It’s really that easy.

Too tart? Add some simple syrup (sugar & water that have been mixed together, boiled and allowed to cool). Want to make your greyhound a Salty Dog? Simply salt the rim of your glass with some pink pink Himalayan sea salt.
